Sailors Support
The Seixal Bay, for its unique characteristics that differentiate it from all the other Tagus riverside areas, combined with the excellent localization, is ideal for the development of nautical recreational activities. The sailors witch visit Seixal Bay, have qualified services and equipments for their recreational boats of medium-sized, as well as for the local fish boats.
Namely, the capacity for docking is of about 25 recreational boats and till 12 places for local fish boats; the places for mooring/anchoring are about 43, and there are about 127 places for recreational boats mooring/anchoring through a weight use in the bottom and using a floating buoys system, as well as 20 places for local fish boats using the same system.
What do I need?
At the Seixal Bay Nautical Centre, only the authorized recreational and fish boats may dock, moor/anchor and remain. The authorization is requested at the Sailor Support Service in a specified formulary, which must be delivered to service with copies of the followed documents:
Recreational boats
- Identity Card or Passport;
- Tax Identification Number, for the residents in Portuguese territory;
- Certificate of Commercial Registry, in case of the collective persons;
- Valid Vessel’s Carnet;
- Insurance of Civil Responsibility Certificate as in the Recreational Nautical Regulations, approved by means of Decree Law n. º 124/2004, of 25th of May, according to the Ordinance n. º 689/01, of 10th of July, and, other applicable legislation.
-For mooring using the buoy system and planting a “poita” (weight) in the bottom of the bay, you must deliver to the Sailor Support Service, a Responsibility Term, concerning to the maintenance, security and technical or material conditions of the system.
Maritime tourist agents, animation tourism private agencies and pre-organized groups
Requests are formulated in accordance with the rules established for recreational boats.
The Maritime Tourist Agents and the Animation Tourism private agencies, which number of visitants is ≥ 15 persons, not considering the crew, and, staying for more than 4 followed hours, are contemplated with a 50% discount on the rate.
The pre-organized groups with a minimum of 10 recreational boats, 40 passengers, and, staying for ≥ 4 followed hours, will have 50% discount on dockage and mooring hourly and daily rates. The Sailor Service must be noticed 36 hours before.

The requirement application must be duly completed by the applicant and delivered personally to the Sailor Support Service, at Seixal Bay Nautical Centre.

Schedules
- From 1st Apr to 31st Oct: the Sailor Support Service works on week days: from 09:00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2:00 to 05.30 pm; on weekends and bank holidays from 09:00 am to 01:30 pm. and from 02:30 to 07:00 pm;
- From 1st Nov to 31st Mar: week days from 9 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 to 5:30 pm; on weekends and bank holidays from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 to 6:00 pm;
- This service is interrupted on Mondays (except on bank holidays), and on 1st January, 25th April, 1st May, and, 24th, 25th and 31st of December.

Collection of Contaminated Packages
The access is free, upon the following conditions:
- Recycle only used oil packages (do not deposit cooking oil, olive oil and butter);
- The used oil must be packed in a plastic bottle or jug safely closed;
- The bottle or jug must be carefully stored in the recycling bin;
